I finally finished knitting my sweater vest. It’s the knitty boogie vest, and based on some of the flickr photos out there, I think I did the cable pattern wrong. Whatever, I don’t care, I made a vest. I knitted something and you can put your arms in it and wear it and dude. I rule.
Iain was not sufficiently excited when I showed him. I was all, Pardon me, where’s the gasping and applause? Argh. Men. Especially Iain men. He’s the kind of guy who would take up knitting out of boredom and spite and then the next week walk downstairs in a man-sized, intricate Aran sweater featuring M.C. Escher-inspired tesselations, the whole thing rendered on number-two needles in sock yarn.

It looks great! Congratulations!
nice vest! *gasp* *fall on the floor in awe!*
Your husband and mine should get together and go bowling. last winter my jayne hat came out like a pointy orange elf hat and his came out perfectly. *pout*
so, so good.
Looks great! Good job.
MB! It looks great! Congratulations. A sweater tale of two cities.
Thanks, everybody!
Made me chuckle about the two cities, Mary.
WOW. It is AWESOME. And the description of the Iain sweater made me snarf coffee out of my nose.
P.S. I’ve yet to knit a sweater that I can actually wear, so GO YOU.
P.P.S. May I suggest Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles on your Christmas list—you’ll be addicted!!!!
otter! Thank you. Why can’t you wear your sweaters? That red one was so pretty.
Funny you mention that — I’m reading Vogue’s Ultimate Sock book right now and they mention that book (and technique) several times. I definitely think I’m ready for socks.
omg, Otter. I wrote “Aryan” instead of “Aran” up there in the iain sweater graf. *embarrassed*
