Every once in a great while we binge on video rentals. This is one of those times. We earned a sixth free — Wordplay. Have you seen it? I picked it up solely because my boyfriend, Jon Stewart, is on the cover.
Sure wish he’d call.
Why doesn’t he call?
Maybe he’ll call.
…
JON CALL ME !!
Okay. Anyway. 3:10 to Yuma was, in my opinion: bleh. I liked the ending better than Iain did but that isn’t saying a lot. Chicken Run: I forgot to watch it all the way through. Was distracted. Love the accents on them chickens, though. The Namesake was, if possible, an improvement on the book. Absolutely. Also, and this is totally unrelated, Kal Penn is hot. Dodgeball: Made me laugh, which is saying something for a Vince Vaughn movie. I don’t like that guy. And Blazing Saddles: Well, now I can say I’ve seen it. (next in that department: Caddyshack.)

I hate to say it because I LOOOOVE Christian Bale, but I slept through most of 3:10 to Yuma. It was just too slow to be a western-actiony film, too much action for a drama.
Dodgeball is freakin hilarious.
And we are HUGE HUGE HUGE fans of Nick Park and Aardman, so we love Chicken Run.
And I just went an looked for Jon’s Wordplay in Netflix, but apparently they don’t have it.
Wordplay is great! Netflix does have it: don’t search for “Jon’s Wordplay” - although he’s on the cover, he’s just one of the people interviewed. It’s a great little docufilm.
yeah, it’s not all jon. Sadly.
I loved Wordplay! And Jon is the highlight. Billy Clinton a close second.
Sad but true, Caddyshack is the first video my brothers and I ever watched. We memorised it and would repeat it word for word (over and over)during our annual 16 hour drive from Sydney to Brisbane. I still remember the lot. Dad totally snapped and ran the car off the road once.
As for Blazing Saddles, it’s fuelled my Dad’s jokes since it was released. I could cry.
bill clinton was great, maliavale.
janet, that’s hilarious (i’m sorry) about you running your dad off the road with Caddyshack lines. Poor Dad.
