Everything’s coming up Milhouse!

What’s this? Could it be … jubilation that I’m feeling, the day after Election Day? Why, that would be unheard of, in all my eight years of voting!

But the internet says I’m not dreaming: Mayor McHottie really did win the governor’s race, Democrats really did sweep state and federal races, and Karl DONALD (duh) *#$% Rumsfeld really did step down.

What a great day. The only thing that would make this day better would be if I had some doughnuts.

post-script: Nothing did more to convince me that those voting machines are totally safe than to have nationwide Democratic wins.

Nope. Our hackers are better than theirs.

Wow. You really put something into perspective for me. Eight years, huh? So you’ve been pretty much voterly depressed for eight years. My first primary and my first Presidential elections were disappointing, but then Clinton! Twice! And then the last two: suckage. It’s all so cyclical, though, really. Maybe the Dem will win the next Presidential election, maybe not. Can’t be as bad as Bush, right? Right?

Rumsfeld’s first name is “Donald”, not “Karl.”

Just sayin’. Oh, plus, my first time voting? Clinton ‘96. Huzzah.

Ok, I’m feeling like I shouldn’t be commenting since I am an R… So please don’t hold it against me as I won’t hold your D’s against you. I’ve been ready for a change, but a cynical part of me thinks that changing parties won’t change much of anything (since they got elected without plans just “I’m better than that guy because I’m not him” platforms) But I could be wrong and things could change. I’m just glad that I’m getting out of politics and won’t have to deal with all the shit on a daily basis anymore.

PS - if you haven’t heard Ohio is now a blue state…

And what better way to express jubilation than with my most favorite Simpson’s quote?

i’d like to thank Snay for correcting me on my wishful thinking (somehow I turned Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld into one person).

Also, thank you Candace for your perspective on cyclical.. cycles. And LL — PLEASE comment. And I kind of understanded your jadedness, too. I’m glad, for your sake, that you’re getting out.

‘Course, nobody beats Matt for jaded :)
