Gonna be a stoned blogging party inside my mouth
… and you’re invited!
I’m getting my wisdom teeth pulled on Thursday. Woohoo, general anesthetic!
And my mom is coming in from Ohio tomorrow afternoon to play with the baby while I recover. Woo hoo, familial support!
So, next time I’m on here I’ll probably be donked up on some high quality codeine, dribbling milkshake down my chin and staring through bleary squinty eyes as my brain goes CHOO CHOO CRAZY from the drugs and the pain. Woohoo!
Bring it! Get these fuckers out of my mouth!

Ahh… I remember getting my wisdom teeth out. I lay there on the table with an IV in my arm, a mask over my face pumping in fun-filled gas…. and I rememeber asking the assistant after awhile of all this if I was going to get knocked out before the doctor came back in. The next thing I remember they were helping me out of the chair.
Now, they aren’t likely going to give you Codeine. They’re more likely to give you Percoset unless you object as I did… then they’ll offer you Demerall or Vicadin.
Good stuff.
I had a knock out drug when i had mine pulled. It really wasn’t too bad. I didn’t have any painkillers afterwards. It really was not bad at all. If you can do the baby thing this will be easy. Good luck! I’ll be thinking of you.
xxoo
Man I’m jealous, I wish I had more wisdom teeth to pull. It was so fun, with the drugs and all (and I’m so not a “drug user”. I forget what they gave me afterward but it made the world a beautiful, beautiful place.
The doctor told me I was singing “Old MacDonald” before they started the surgery, but after I was passed out from the gas. Then they gave me percoset and I couldn’t feel my face anymore. Good times…
Gah! I had all four of mine done at the same time. Codeine? Forget about that … vicodin, percoset or demerrol!!! Codeine be damned. Stock up on the apple sauce and mashed potatoes …
I found you through a link on Izzy’s site. Good luck with the teeths!
Thanks, MrsFortune! I hope it’s not too awful. I’m very much looking forward to the drugs, though. Y’all have some beautiful things to say about the drugs.
ACW: Old MacDonald, eh?
Mama C-ta: Trade me some of your anti-anxiety meds for a little vicodin? Huh? Whaddya say. [p.s. Kidding! but still]
Jess: Thank you. Childbirth, um, was actually pretty tolerable for me, so you’ve done a lot to ease my mind. I’m not even kidding.
Aaron: You make it all sound like a lovely, fuzzy dream. Ahhh.
lost mine in 1993, I was 16 years old and had never even smoked pot. the next day I was supposed to go to lollafuckingpalooza (beastie boys, tribe called quest, george clinton, smashing pumpkins $40) and my parents tried to tell me I couldn’t go. I went with chimpmunk cheeks and a stash of excellent codeine that made me keep screaming, “this is the best thing that has ever happened to me!” while adrock bounced around the stage.
this experience has colored every high since.
have fun!
I was wide awake when I had mine done. Creepy, creepy feeling. Milkshakes were good though.
Don’t spit!
Erp.
I only had two of mine taken out. For some reason I was convinced that yeah, I’d get the others out not long after the first two came out.
Turns out that I was pregnant with Christopher when I had the first surgery. I think we freaked out in a major way for MONTHS, thinking that something was wrong with him because of the drugs.
Oh, and we attended a HUGE live band bash at a farm the weekend *before* my wisdom teeth came out. I got stinkin’ drunk. Yeah, pregnant then, too. Didn’t know; we weren’t trying.
Good thing the boy is so freaking smart. But I *do* wonder about his sensory issues and the whole ADHD thing…my fault? Who knows.
Good luck!
Forget the wisdom teeth; I hope the doctor did something about those bowling pins in your mouth when you were in the surgery!
(Sorry, That’s what they look like to me.)
