Celebrity sightings!

Lame-o alert: So I tried to go to sleep, but can’t until I do the obligatory meetup-followup. I’m a total nerd.

OK, so this evening was the September Happy Hour at Holy Frijole’s. Great bar. Bartender resembled Kevin of Team Neudecker fame [BBC, you remember him]. I dragged Iain along this time, to my delight, and got to have my first-ever sip of National Bohemian beer. Rock.

I can tell you that Holy Frijole’s has a spacious women’s restroom painted pepto-bismol pink. I know this because I spent about half of my time in there weeing, because I’m pregnant and my bladder is as big as a peanut.

Met, for the first time, toast-of-the-town Jason Dove, along with Epiphany, Virginia, Russel, and Jess McD. Plus there were the usual suspects: the now-defunct I Spy Gemini, EEBmore, Fate’s Fool, DaB, Seadragon, Bre, Maphet, Dean. I suspect there were a few there I never did meet, as well, to whom I say: “Eep! Sorry about that.”

Iain got drunk. He’ll deny it and say he was only tipsy, but I know he was drunk, because on the way home he was yelling “I WANT A CIGARETTE, BITCHES!” out the window on Northern Parkway. This is not his normal behavior; ergo, he was drunk. No matter, because he’s cute when he’s drunk. Plus, he’s sleeping right now and can’t prevent me from writing this.

Anyway, had a good time as usual, but am totally ready to conk out. Remember when I used to stay up til, like, 5 a.m. and then would berate myself? Here it is 10:22, and I’m all exhausted. Pathetic. But true. Besides, there’s a department meeting tomorrow, and you know what THAT means: Sandwiches! Boy oh boy, I sure do love sammiches.

Speaking of which, a quick shoutout to Jeffy and Hurm The Sperm and the entire international newspaper design posse, a.k.a. SND, most of whom are convened in San Jose, CA, this very weekend. May your typography be funky-fresh and may your pica pole never wilt. Wish I were there!
