Mind on my money …

And my money on my mind.

So I learned all about 401(k)s today from Brad Pitt. I’m sure it wasn’t the actual Brad, but from the back of the room without my glasses I could pretend it was. Anyway. Was an informative little session, gave me hope for my retirement. Did you know that to retire comfortably in 30 years you need to save about $950,000? Shah!!

‘Break our house’ party: Anyway. So we’re throwing a party next Saturday, to celebrate the new house and get our drinks on. Gonna grill some burgers and dogs, have some BusterBar, and just hang out on the back deck. I’m extending the invite to established Baltibloggers [as in, if I’ve met you at one or more of the happy hours, and you’re willing to come to Baltimore County, then by all means. The more the merrier!] Drop me an e-mail or talk to me at Holy Frijole’s. And of course my Ohio homies are invited, though I realize y’all live 8 hours away [or farther, Miss Mississippi], but at least you’d have a place to stay.

And did I mention the BusterBar?

PYT at the PYO: We’re headed out to the ol’ apple orchard this weekend for some rural geeking out. Hayrides, pick-yer-own apples, fresh-pressed cider, the works. I told you, I’m a freak for fall. And it’s my birthday, so I can do what I want, nyah nyah.

My iPod cozy. Craftaholic: So here’s a pic of the iPod cozy I made Wednesday morning. Swear to god, I bounced out of bed at like 6:30 a.m. because I was so excited about making it. If you open the little flap, there’s a window cut out with a whipstitch border that gives access to the display screen. It’s pretty rad.

I have three more projects to add to The Damn Quilt: I want to knit or crochet myself a maternity poncho a la Mimi Maternity; I want to stitch a new maternity shirt out of an old XL long-sleeve T-shirt left over from a Take Back The Night march in college; and I want to make some baby T-shirts which are unabashedly inspired by these.ÔøºA lil' guy in a Che Guevara T-shirt Just too freaking much fun, if you ask me. So I have Photoshop at the ready, my iron-on printer paper on hand. All I need is a couple hours and a value-pack of onesies, and I’m all set.

Lord, I love to make shit.

happy bday mb — have a great one and enjoy your pod! hope to see you at the happy hr or maybe next sat :-) is it an afternoon or evening bbq? i have no clue what a busterbar is. I fear that makes me a loser for not knowing.

I just may be interested on this bbq. Is it daytime or night? What the hell is a busterbar?

From 4 p.m. to whenever. And busterbar … how do i describe the glory of busterbar? Orgasm in dessert form.

Oreo cookie crust on the bottom. Vanilla ice cream in the middle. Gooey chocolate topping. It’s richer than Bill Gates and more delicious than anything, but if you’re diabetic it’ll probably kill you.

Anyway, old family recipe, mondo tasty, you’d have to come just to try it!

Me, elsewhere
