Anyway. Getting ready for dinner; just took Kris and Dave to the airport. We had a nice, calm weekend of hanging out and eating out, just catching up a bit and laying low. Kris did well at her history conference, and Dave, Iain and I hung out in Bethesda for the day — the same block Iain and I were at a few days ago when my Pops was in town for a conference. Funny.

It was good to see those two again; it’s been too long.

In other, horribly depressing news: My grandfather has passed away after a long illness.

In slightly related news: I have quit smoking, cold turkey.

Having caught y’all up on my life, and these saddening pieces of information, you will forgive me if I don’t post again for a while. Things are getting crazy around here.

MB, hugs and condolences to you and your loved ones at this difficult time…good luck with the cold turkey too, and don’t beat yourself up if it gets too hard some days…you’ll do it…
